Apple Announces New iPad Pro (2024)

What's New?
The new iPad Pro unveiled at Apple’s “Let Loose” event boasts impressive upgrades, including the first M4 chip, a stunning OLED Ultra Retina XDR Display, and enhanced camera capabilities for a seamless creative experience.
OLED Displays
The new iPad combines the light from two panels, allowing it to reach 1,000 nits SDR, and 1,600 nits peak HDR. This means we can expect deeper, richer blacks. Apple is calling this Tandem OLED.
There is also an option that is made of nano-texture glass to help reduce glare.
M4 Chip Announced
The iPad is skipping the M3 chip series and going straight to the M4 series, which Apple also announced during this event.
The M4 in the new iPad pro has the following specs:
- 3nm technology
- CPU:
- 4 performance cores and 6 efficacy cores
- GPU:
- 10 cores
- Neural Engine: 38 trillion operations per second
The new Apple M4 can deliver the same performance as the M2 using half of the power.
